Daily Helmsman Contact Information Sheet

This is an application to work at the Daily Helmsman. All applicants must be current students at the University of Memphis. Students must have completed Media Writing (JOUR 2121) with a "C" average. Our editors will try to get back to you in a timely fashion. Please keep in mind the Helmsman staff are very busy. If you do not hear from an editor, please come back. Persistence is an essential attribute for journalists.

* Please choose the day you are available to work. Reporters and Photographers are required to work one day Monday - Thursday, 1-5 p.m. Copy Editors work from 5:30 p.m. until the paper is completed (about midnight).

* How often would you prefer to write? Please let us know how much time you want to put into the Helmsman. Are you just looking to write for class, once a week, be on call to cover events, etc. We will try to work with your schedule and call you when you are free. However expect emails/calls/texts to see if you can quickly cover an event or do something.
