In order for us to be a vital community of Christ at Eastern it is important that each member feel connected and cared for. We all know that eating together is great context for easy conversation. So for the past five years we have offered an opportunity to meet in groups of 8-10 and have had fun getting to know each other while enjoying a meal together.
Dine with Nine has been a terrific success and has included close to 100 people each year. Once a year the committee assigns new groups who will meet in each other's homes for a suggested four times a year. Each group can decide whether to meet for breakfast, lunch, dinner, potlucks or even going out. This year we would like to offer a vegetarian group so if you have dietary restrictions, this might be a good choice for you!
You may wonder about the significance of NINE; it is a way to make clear that this is not for couples only! Whatever your age, you are welcome! We are hoping to have a cross-section of the congregation so there will be an interesting mix of stories.
Below you will find a sign up form. If you would like to participate, please complete and submit this form before August 30. The committee will form the groups and try to mix it up as much as possible! Watch your mail boxes for the new rotation beginning sometime in September.
