DRYC cordially invites you to participate in the 21st Biennial Marina del Rey to Puerto Vallarta International Yacht Race. Forty years of continuous race management has earned DRYC a reputation for unparalleled excellence in presenting a long distance race event.

The PV11 Race Series features 4 separately scored races, with stops in beautiful anchorages along the coast of Baja California, where skippers will experience fun-filled social activities at each destination. An innovative Scoring System computes handicap and corrected time on actual time sailed. This allows the use of engine power if the winds are so light as to preclude a boat from finishing one race in time to enjoy the end-of-leg festivities and to start the next race. There are two Divisions: Salsa Roja and Salsa Verde.

SALSA ROJA Division  Classes will be scored using PHRF off-wind course (OWC) ratings for all 4 races of their series. Spinnakers are allowed.

SALSA VERDE Division  Classes will use a unique handicapping system that is adjusted after the first, second and third race of their 4 race series. Spinnaker poles are not permitted. Asymmetric spinnakers (Gennakers) may be flown.

Due to limited slip availability in Marina Vallarta, this race series is limited to 40 boat entries.

PREPARATION SEMINARS

The Preparation Seminars, hosted by DRYC, are tailored to the experiences and needs of the participants in the PV’11 Race Series, therefore all interested racing and cruising sailors are invited to take part in these seminars, which will cover all aspects of the race event as well as after-race cruising options. * Seminar #2       Saturday, November 6, 2010  ~          9:00 am
