2024 Careers in Aging Month Award Application

Part I: General Information

Thank you for your interest in applying for a Careers in Aging Month Award. The application must include answers to all sections. Applications that do not meet these requirements will not be considered for funding. Applications are due by 11:59pm ET on January 5, 2024. Awardees will be announced via e-mail by early February. If you have questions, please email membership@geron.org (Please put Careers in Aging Award Application in the subject line).

Applicants acknowledge that they will include GSA and AGHE as sponsors of the event or activity and include www.careersinaging.com in promotional materials.

Awardees will be required to submit a report by sending a minimum of 2 photos and a paragraph, answer a series of questions, and include a 100 word summary regarding the success of the event (due April 15, 2024). A link to the report form will be provided. 

Please note: To be eligible for the award, the participant must hold their event within the Careers in Aging Month, March 2024.

Part II: Careers in Aging Week Proposal

Please upload a word or pdf document (up to two pages total) that answers each of the following questions:

1. Briefly describe your planned activity or events (including date/s) during CIAM.

2. How will your CIAM activity or events be advertised? What new groups or participants do you hope to reach out to and encourage to attend?

3. Please list any sponsors and/or partners (financial or otherwise). Describe how these partners will contribute to the activities' interdisciplinary nature and overall success.

4. How will you allocate funds for the activity or events if you receive funding? If this award does not fully fund your event, what other funding sources do you have to support your event? Please note: awards will be up to $500.

5. Please include a budget detailing how the dollars will be spent and a budget narrative/justification for items included (e.g., $100/per speaker (2 speakers), $100 for food – a total of $300).
