The Indiana Pork State Ambassador serves as a representative for the state association and the pork industry. The chosen individual will serve as the State Ambassador for a full year and will be required to complete responsibilities and attend state events remotely during his/her term (Jan. 2020 – Dec. 2020).
The State Ambassador will serve as an Indiana Pork representative at university events and club meetings. The State Ambassador will be asked to speak on behalf of the pork industry to a variety of groups. The State Ambassador will also be required to attend Indiana Pork events to develop leadership skills, network with industry members and expand their knowledge of the pork industry.
The State Ambassador will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship upon the completion of his/ her term. Lodging and meal expenses will be covered by Indiana Pork for in-state travel. The selected individual will receive Indiana Pork branded gear to represent the association.
Responsibilities and Requirements: 
- Participate in campus groups and clubs specific to pork production.
- Five social media posts to your personal account to promote common pork production practices. 
- Attend and help organize Purdue Junior Pork Day. 
- Attend Indiana Pork Young Professionals Conference.
- Attend one Indiana Pork Board of Directors meeting. 
- Willing to assist with Indiana Pork tents at Indiana State Fair. 
- Monthly meeting with Indiana Pork staff member. 
- Must be an Indiana resident between the ages of 18-23 (must be 18 on January 1, 2020.) 
- Must exhibit strong communication, leadership, and organization skills.
- Must be self-motivated to complete tasks.
- Must exhibit a genuine interest in the pork industry and be able to speak on behalf of it.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout the state of Indiana.
