The Senior Awards are presented to a select group of graduating students who are members of the class of 2025 and who meet the specified criteria for each award.

 Silver Key:

  1. Applicant has had a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 – 4.00.
  2. Applicant has proven involvement within his/her major area of academic concentration and department.
  3. Applicant has been involved in co-curricular activities within the university community.
  4. Have no judicial sanctions.

 Special Recognition:

  1. Applicant has proven involvement within his/her major area of academic concentration and department.
  2. Applicant has been involved in co-curricular activities within the university community.
  3. Have no judicial sanctions.

 Faculty, Staff, Administration Award:

This award is presented to an administrator, a faculty member, or a staff member to recognize their contributions to the college community. Any member of the class of 2025 may submit nominations.

 

Directions:
  1. Answer all questions; incomplete applications will not be considered. 

  2. You MUST submit a picture of yourself. The photo may be used at the ceremony, or by the Student Involvement and Operations office, or Salem State University on the website or social media.
    Your photo should not be a selfie. If you do not submit a picture your application will be considered incomplete.

  3. It is your responsibility to ensure that all recommendations are received by the deadline date. Each student MUST receive 2 recommendations.  Please give your recommendations the information listed above regarding how to write your recommendation.   If your sponsor chooses to submit a recommendation electronically please ask that he/she includes your name in the subject.  If he/she chooses to submit a hardcopy please ask that he/she attaches a cover letter with your name. Anonymity is essential to ensure a fair and objective review by the committee. 
  4. All online applications and recommendations MUST be completed by Friday, March 21, 2025, no later than 5pm.

I, ___________________________________ am requesting that you write a brief statement on my behalf, in support of my candidacy for a Senior Award. The criteria require that applicants shall have proven involvement within his/her major area of academic concentration and co-curricular activities in the college community. Anonymity of the applicants is required; therefore please do not refer to me by name within the recommendation. Instead, please refer to me as ‘the applicant’, ‘this student’, ‘s/he’, etc. in your letter.

It will be necessary, however, for you to submit a recommendation to marroyo@salemstate.edu  by 5:00 pm, on Friday, March 21, 2025. If you choose to submit my recommendation electronically please include my name in the email subject line.  If you choose to submit a hard copy please attach a cover letter with my name.  I thank you for your support.
