Please be aware that since major carriers such as State Farm Insurance have announced in 2023 that they will no longer write business in California, the CA FAIR Plan has been inundated with requests to provide fire insurance to homeowners. As a result of thousands of applications flooding in to the FAIR Plan systems, the underwriting is often taking 3 to 4 weeks or longer to complete after submission to CA FAIR. We will do everyting within our power to quote your policies quickly, submit for underwriting in a timely manner, and provide evidence of insurance documents to your lender (if required) in plenty of time to meet your closing dates. However, please anticipate that this process will take at least three (3) to four (4) weeks to complete, so please be sure that you have submitted everything to us as far in advance of closing as possible. We are happy to submit your application for underwriting, but we cannot gurantee that CA FAIR will be able to meet your deadlines.
In addition, CA FAIR Plan has a requirement for application submissions to include a photograph of the entire front of the home, and a photograph of the address numbers (on the home, at the street, or the mailbox). Please plan to submit one photo of each side of the outside of the home, and a photo of the address numbers as soon as you are able. Additional photos of the sides and back of the home are appreciated as they often help smooth out the process with CA FAIR. For new purchases, the home inspection is a great time to take these, or you can have someone else do it.
