This award recognizes notable achievements in the field of highway safety by individuals, coalitions, organizations, nonprofits, businesses, government agencies, universities and/or the media. Up to three awards will be presented in 2024.
Submissions may include an impactful highway safety program, plan or legislation addressing, but not limited to, the following: occupant protection; impaired or distracted driving; speeding or aggressive driving; traffic enforcement; traffic records; emergency medical services; and bicycle, micromobility, motorcycle and/or pedestrian safety.
Winners are expected to submit relevant images, photos and/or b-roll that GHSA will use to produce a short video. GHSA will work with the winners to record a brief interview for inclusion in the videos. In lieu of a formal awards presentation, the videos will be shown at the GHSA Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, September 7-11. Winners may be invited to speak about their award-winning initiative during an Annual Meeting workshop.
