To reactivate an organization that has lost recognition with the University, OR to start a new cultural Greek organization, please follow this expansion checklist:
-There must be at least 5 to 10 students that have expressed interested in the proposed organization through this form.
-Each interested student must meet the minimum academic requirement of the LIU Post Greek Community: maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
-Each interested student must fill out the MGC Interest Form online at www.tinyurl.com/PostGreek and select the cultural Greek organization that they wish to reactivate. Students can write in their organization of choice to indicate interest in starting a new cultural Greek organization.
-Each interested student must upload a Formal Letter of Intent, asking the Multicultural Greek Council and the University to open for expansion.
Once the above steps are met, LIU Promise will make contact with the National Organization.
In the event that a minimum of 5 potential new members that meet the above requirements are unable to join the organization, whether due to policies outlined by the University or National Organization, the reactivation/expansion process will cease immediately.
Formal Letters of Intent should:
-Describe the organization in which you intend to reactivate or start on campus;
-Why you wish to become a member of the organization; and
-How reactivating/starting this organization will enhance the campus community of Long Island University - Post.
