Can’t climb, but want to give your time?

United Way Greater Toronto is returning to the CN Tower for its signature fundraising event, United Way’s ClimbUP for community! As climbers raise funds and take on the 1,776 steps of the tower, volunteers create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. This is your opportunity to step up for community and be one of the 500 energetic and kind-hearted volunteers who will help us make ClimbUP’s return an incredible success! Come out for one day of the event or join us for both. By stepping up and volunteering, you will help impact lives, fight local poverty and build stronger communities.

Before registering, please note the following:

  • Time – Most volunteer shifts begin at: 5:00 a.m. and it is extremely important that volunteers arrive on time. If you do not feel that you can truly commit to arriving by 5:00 a.m., please do not sign up for these positions. We ask all volunteers to remain in their positions for the full shift unless otherwise directed by a Team Lead and/or an Event Lead.
  • Transportation – Please consider your transportation options to the site before you sign up for a position. On weekends, the TTC subway system is not in service until 6:00 a.m. on Saturdays and 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. This can make getting downtown more difficult. However, the Blue Night Network routes - overnight TTC service, operates on most major routes from approximately 1:30 a.m. to the start of subway service. Plan your route in advance to help make sure you have a smooth arrival!

Paid public parking lots are conveniently located near MTCC. The entrance to the North Building parking garage is on Lower Simcoe Street, just south of Front Street West and slightly north of Bremner Boulevard.
  • Volunteers must be a minimum of 13 years of age - Volunteers aged 13-15 must volunteer with a parent or guardian. All volunteers must sign a waiver. Volunteers under 18 years of age must have a guardian/parent sign a waiver and submit it at the Volunteer Check-in on event day. The volunteer waiver is included in the online application.

Select only one position per day. If you are able to join us on both days, please select one position for Saturday and one position for Sunday.
